nfuchs's sketchbook

Started this guy yesterday using a very old base mesh (image attached) I’ll have to re-topologize. The belly button is too up high I think but right now the hands and feet are under construction…

An unfinished quick sketch (polysphere, 1 hour) I did a few months ago.[Head_sketch.jpg]

Since I’ve spent too much time with this idea I consider it done for now and show it to you guys. A lot of things could be improved on it of course (I just don’t have the interest anymore). Crits are welcome…I wish to learn

Dragon and Gladiator created in Zbrush. Textured using Zbrush and Photoshop. Render in 3ds Max with Vray.

wowwwwwww

greaaaaaaaat compositionn mann!! really love it! i just dont like the burned guy…but everything is awsome

REally impressive

Hi Nfuch, about your image, the render and the materials looks very good, about the composition in general, I think that the character in the right side looks as if he is walking in the street with nothing in front, i think He needs a more heroic pose, the character down the dragon looks a little bit sharp in comparison with the over all image, needs to be with less saturation and contrast. cheers.

sorry for my english.

ok man wow… i am so proud of my self for giving you 5 stars earlier  … u definitely deserve it that last image is insane, is everything in it 3d and made urself?

nfuch,

What a fun piece of art! I know what you mean, after working on a particular theme or picture for a long while all you start to see is the flaws. I would agree about the foreground gladiator. A more heroic pose would look better. I really like what you’ve done with the lighting. It truly looks like an outdoor scene. There is a heroic pose that was used in the “Two Towers” by Aragorn. It was shortly after the “Hornberg” wall was breached. Aragorn was leading a group of Elves into a charge at the hord of Uriks coming through. He had his sword raised where the hilt was in front of his face and then he lowered it to his right side pointed towards the Uriks and began to run. Maybe, that type of action would apply here. Either that or run like Hell!

Thanks guys! I see what you mean.
But I tried to make that gladiator look like someone who is slowly retreating…holding the shield to protect himself since the dragon now picked him to be the next…

Oh and…yes. Everything is 3d and done by me.

Like the scene with the dragon on the gladiator arena! :+1:

NIce to see it finished! ligthing is ggod, I think that the dargon is a bit dry…But since you have no more interest in it, go on to the next tiutle. But no Star Wars, please… (he know perfectly what I mean)

Thanks!

Hey Jester!
There is not such a thing as ‘a finished piece’ you know…
The dragon is dry since it is a ‘desert dragon’

If the next one will be Star Wars, it won’t be the usul stuff… I can tell you that :stuck_out_tongue:
Thanks for your comment dude!

good likeness…I would work more on it, particularly the mouth, eyes and hair, then it will be great :+1:

Since nowadays I have a lot of free time…I’m working on this dude. Just started to sculpt his pants and socks. Still working on the hands aswell. Comments are always welcome.

nice :+1: :+1: :+1: pretty cool

Cool looking Shaolin Monk. Did you model him after Jet Li? :+1:

Thanks guys!

[color=SandyBrown] SolidSnakexxx: Nope...that was my 3rd monk model. For this one I've sculpted the face from imagination. The body too...I just checked myself in the mirror and had to 'paddle' my muscles a lot (hope it's the right expression) to see how they relate to each other, what shape do they have in this pose.
