Can anyone guide me to some good tutorial regarding baking normal map details from hi rez mesh to lo rez game model mesh. Can it be done in Zbrush?
Thanks Auric, but i was more interested in baking details from hi poly mesh to lo poly mesh with different point order and uv’s. I am aware of normal mapping.
I am planing to take part of dominance war challenge, so what is the workflow for turning Zbrush sculpt in to game model?
ZMapper can project details from one model to another to create the normal maps. The instructions for that are in the link I gave you.
ZBrush itself can do the same, and actually do it better. Append the new version of the model to the one you’ve detailed. Divide to have as many polygons. Use Tool>SubTool>Project All to copy the details across. Return to level 1 and create your map.
With this approach, you can use ZBrush’s other features to fix any places where the projection wasn’t perfect. With ZMapper, you get what you get. But both methods will do what you’ve described.
