Newbie UV question

Hi all!

I now know that you first need to crate UVs in the 3d app you want to bring your Zbrush model back into. In my case it will be Cinema 4d.

My question is simply; Is there no other way to take a high detail model created from scratch in Zbrush and bring it back with a working displacement map?

Thank´s

Husse

You can import new UVs any time for your ZB object, by exporting the low poly base layer, unwrapping that as desired externally, and reimporting that into the tool. Procedure here:

Thank´s Bingo_Jackson.

I don´t know if I missunderstood the answer or if you missunderstood my question.

I’ll try to make it more clear:

I make a model in Zbrush with high detail and want to bring that model into Cinema 4D. Can I some how bring a lowpoly version into C4D, make UVs there – bring my UV mapped model back to Zbrush and somehow get my detailwork back on that model?

Does that make any sense?

Follow the process in the previous link and it should do just what you want.

Ok, Thank´s a lot guys!

I guess it was me that didn´t really understand the procedure but I will try again.

Does the modell need to be a polymesh or is it working with a Ztool?
When I import the UV fixed obj, there is a dialog in Zbrushthat asks i f I want to
transfer the high detail or not. If I press no the obj just comes in and replaces the ztool…
