Newbie Question on Rendering Cylinder?

I am trying to make the bottom part of a box completely smooth all around but when I preview or render, the quads edges show up? I have subdivided a couple of times and still have the hard edges. What am I doing wrong?

In ‘Tool>Geometry’, make sure ‘Smt’ (Subdivide Smooth Modifier) is on before you subdivide.

In render settings is smooth normals, it will remove most faceting but your shadows may be blotchy.
