Having only been using zbrush a few weeks, and following all the tutorials i can… i hit a weird issue.
I have this troll object I made. I wanted a orange light hitting it from the right, and a blue glow as a backlight. I set up the lights… and hit the preview render (without HD Geometry). The lighting was exactly what I was going for.
Now I figure I’ve got this ready for final output, and up all render settings (i.e. truning on HD Geometry, AO, SSS.) I click SHIFT+R for BPR, and now it renders, but without the same lighting. it’s like the colored lights are barely affecting the model.
Am I doing something wrong? How does adding HD Geometry, etc. cause the lighting affect to diminish so much?
