Those last few compositions are much too cluttered. Especially, the oil one. And, the dark ones are so dark. Why does everything always seem to be at night, SpiritDreamer? What is represented in this last image?
Derek Frenzo…Thank You I love clutter…The more you look, The more you See…Darknes…I like Rembrandt.
…The last one represents a Dream…my own…You’ll have to ask someone like Sigmund Freud if you want to get an explanation of it’s meaning.
Haha good one! Libido and aggression would be my guess

Something weird happened…
I had a bunch of comments about stuff in that quote above about Sigmund Freud…
It dident show up, ZBC did something odd I think.
Anyhow it boiled down to clutter being good, and Sigmund having a nervous break down if he were suddenly exposed to the internet. There was more but it was long and ZBC ate it.
Cheers!
Mealea
Rembrandt watching a winged leopard dragon fighting with a large buck. If that’s based on another dream of yours, you really need to be more careful what you eat before going to bed.
Mealea…That tends to happen in here quite freqently…Big Brother Syndrome/Disease
Derek Frenzo…Just trolling for trolls…Looks like I caught one…
I’m NOT a troll and that is NOT a troll comment. You had a bit of fun with the legitimate critique I made earlier and I was just playing along with you.
I even put a little icon on my remark to soften what I said. I have never trolled anyone’s thread. I try to be constructive and honest when I comment.
If I was trolling, I would have said much worse things. Not everyone who doesn’t get what you do, or who points out areas that could be improved is a troll. Any constructive criticsm that has been given here has always been completely ignored, or dismissed. Usually, I refrain from saying anything here because of that fact. If you are only interested in hearing praise, that is your choice. However, if you don’t want people to critique your work, than perhaps you shouldn’t post it. If you’re completely happy just taking old models and rearranging them in all kinds of arbitrary compositions, again and again, and keeping your work at one level, that is totally fine, too. Again, that is your choice. There are so many ways that these images could be improved, however. For starters, why don’t you use the tools in ZBrush to pose your models to look like they are actually interacting? Why is that leopard dragon thing looking somewhere else instead of at what he’s attacking? Why are his feet above the Buck, instead of actually on top of him? I really think you can do better. It is almost as if you deliberately want to invoke a knee jerk reaction from someone. Maybe there is a joke here that I’m not in on. That is my opinion, and I was foolish enough offer it here. Honestly, I’m not interested in arguing with you, or anyone in these forums for that matter. Happy zbrushing, SpiritDreamer!
@Derek:
I think some stuff got lost in the ether here, I could be wrong but in the process of responding to what you said earlier a rather long winded thing I typed up vanished.
I think ZBC had a hickup
Derek…Happy ZBRUSHING to you also…I’m glad you are so concerned about my progress, and also that you are also fine with the things that I am fine with.
…I looked for your work, but couldn’t find it anywhere…but i’m sure it must be great, wherever it is…Perhaps if I could see it, I could learn what you think I should learn… by seeing it…Talk is cheap, and action always speaks louder than words…I have heard the words that you have just written from a few others since I started my sketchbook…All I can say is that if I agree with someone, I will take their advice, and if I don’t agree with someone, I will not take their advice…it’s as simple as that.
Some people enjoy my works, and some people hate them…I can deal with it, can you
By the way, just in case you are not sure what he looks like,…that is not Rembrandt, and it is also a WIP…that may or may not lead into another idea,…but at least the initial thought is captured…which is what Sketchbooks are for, at least that is what mine are for…that much I do know.
Mealea…Thanks for the effort , but I feel it is a wasted one in this case…
I’m sorry you couldn’t find any of my work, SpiritDreamer. Are you sure you looked in the right places? Did you look on Access Hollywood, Good Morning America, or at the Smithsonian Institute? Those are some of the places my work has appeared. Maybe you just looked under the wrong name. I don’t care what you believe about me, my intentions, or my work. I certainly don’t need to prove anything to you.
True, there isn’t really any of my work to see here. I really should try to remedy that someday. You definitely have a lot more work to show than I do. That’s simply because, unlike you, I believe in quality over quantity.
It’s too bad that you can’t take any constructive criticism whatsoever, and decided instead, to take my comments and turn them, and this whole situation into something ugly. That is your own insecurities talking, not mine! As if what I have been telling you is unique. As if you haven’t been told similar things from other people. You found fault with them, too. I never said I know everything, or that my work is so superior to yours. Those are YOUR words. Isn’t it really you who seems to have ALL the answers, and not me. That is how you choose to dismiss constructive criticism. By trying to find fault with the person who gave it. As long as the person showers you with praise, they are okay in your book. The minute they offer any critique, they are labeled a troll! It doesn’t take an artist to know good artwork work from bad artwork. You don’t need to be Steven Spielberg to know a good movie from a terrible one. One doesn’t have to be a chef to know good food from bad food. You’re right about one thing. This is a hopeless cause! Again, if your satisfied with just getting by, and ignoring any help, or honest critiques of your work, so be it. See how far that attitude gets you. I have much better things to do with my time.
So why aren’t you doing better things with your time, besides coming on my thread over and over again, and getting mad when I say that I disagree with you.:qu: …I’ve taken good advice, and also ignored bad advice…and have learned the difference between the two…and i’m happy with my life, and with my art…and don’t have to please you, or anyone else with ether…It’s my journy, and I will follow it my way,…not yours…You should learn to respect orther peoples journies…not all of us want to be superstars when it comes to our art…Some egos are small, and like it that way…
I don’t come in here and comment again and again. Paranoid much? I’ve made a couple comments in all your 86 pages. That’s again and again? You are right though. This really is a complete waste of my time. Why do I do it? Why do I feel the need to jump in and save a drowning man. Why do I feel the need to help somebody who keeps trying to push on a door that clearly reads “PULL.” I don’t know.
I wasn’t mad because you didn’t listen to my critique. You don’t listen to anyone’s critiques. I just didn’t care for the term troll. It’s funny that your thread has more so-called “trolls” than anybody elses. I wonder why that is? And, don’t kid yourself. You have the biggest ego of anyone here. Artists with 5 times your talent are willing to graciously accept a little constructive criticism. You’re not. My points were valid, and several others have made similar comments. You don’t want to hear anything but praise. Why don’t you just say so when you post your work? “NO CRITIQUES ACCEPTED! PERIOD!” That way, there won’t be anymore confusion.
Don’t worry, I won’t be posting anymore critiques here. Just go on your little journey. And, if you get lost, whatever you do, don’t ask anyone for directions.
BYE BYE…TROLL.
