a little more precision on the characters, and itll be amazing… youve already got quite an impression with that “composition” looks like an old painting, especially in black and white.
pretty cool stuff.
Its every time the same…
the dragon, the lion… only in a “new” pic - since month…
Rouncer…Thank you…
Hanco…Thank You You should give it a try with your character…Great way to learn what you don’t know…The more you look…The more you’ll see, and learn.
Try putting your character into 20 scenes that you create…Some of the compostions will work, and some won’t, but I guarantee, you will learn something new from each one that you try to make work, and you will also find out what you don’t know. Find that out, and you will SEE what you missed when you LOOKED.

The Pandemic Paw of Moloch
The exiled archer flew down from the heavens riding her snow leopard dragon with stretched textures. The bear wearing clogs glided unposed as fast as he could but he could not dodge the attack of claytubes man who had been waiting for an ambush for eons. Unsuspectingly the brave archer is jumped by another reused lion from the early pages of the sketchbook but this time with smudged out wings. When you thought things couldn’t get any more grave for the archer here comes a ferret with giant mittens to keep her paws warm at night, but how do they fare in combat? That question is sternly answered with a quick slash of the mitten to the wooden and unrealistically long shin of the archer.
In the midst of the battle the now deranged archer had a moment of clairty and a thought so provoking and truthful rang inside her head, emanating out to every strand of her smudged hair. “Perhaps my pose is a bit undynamic and my silhouette unclear creating a weak impression to the viewer, and hey that’s a pretty cool looking lion biting my dragon.”
The bear wearing clogs of course has a psychic clog connection with the archer, them both wearing clogs and all, and he is so moved by the archers brave thoughts that he turns around to confess his admiration to his former foe but he is flabbergasted by what he sees. Right there in the midst of the battlefield are a pair of disjointed lion paws sticking out from the snow leopard which clearly don’t belong to any of the two lions he sees fighting the dragon. Perplexed as he is by this he thinks to himself that maybe one of the dragons’ feet are painted the same colour as the lions skin.
As the clog wearing bear ponders this fact he comes to a realization. Perhaps we are all snow leopard dragons trying to get through life soaring high in the sky free from the corrupted lions. But every once in a while we need to come back down on earth to breath and rest our wings and as we get up again a part of the lion has fused with us and we are forever changed. Humbled by his thoughts the bear removed his clogs to let his beautiful paws breath. The bear never fought again and the archer got her two extra pair of clogs back.
Salmon…LOL…Thank You for your wasted effort.
Just a simple and fun composition study loosely based on a Rubens painting.Nothing more than that…link to that painting posted above on this page.
I’m using whatever characters I like, just to form the compositional design.
I know you are trying to take the fun out of my playful way of studying, but I can guarantee you, that you never will.
I’m glad that you can read so much into it though.
Hello SpiritDreamer, yes you are right I did play with wastebaskets when I was a boy and those memories are very dear to me, and I’d like you to respect that.
I think there’s been a misunderstanding.
Salmon is the best guy in the world to comment. While 95% of the comments on this site are game comments with muscles all over his comments are fine art.
-Venser, the Sojourner.
Not my words. So actually my comments are fine art and therefore irrefutable and perfect so please don’t wave them off.
No but seriously though I’m not trying to take the fun out of what you’re doing I had a good time scrolling through a couple of pages of your thread yesterday and it’s obvious you’re having alot of fun, but what was horrible was not your work, but your attitude towards constructive criticism. People spent time to try help you advance as a sculptor and you stomp them to the ground or you go off on tangents based on words they use, such as when someone mentioned toys, and then try to make yourself out as a victim when they get frustrated with you. Or a fine artist who is impervious to critique. Wouldn’t you like to further your art in any way possible? Well I guess that’s a rhetorical question since you’ve clearly shown that the answer is no.
Anyways, I still enjoyed looking through your stuff!
Life, just like art, it takes a lifetime of learning to achive it, and pays to know the difference between contructive critique and destructive bull****, and when to listen, and when to ignore.
Praise for and from some, distain for and from others…oh well…I will continue to be myself ether way…When it comes to my art,…take it or leave it,…the choice is yours not mine.
Yes, bull**** indeed.
So the user who said that your posing is stale and in effect makes your model look like wooden toys is just spouting destructive bull**** in your eyes? There’s nothing to take from that statement? Honestly you’re being dense and that’s to your disadvantage, but I guess that’s your choice.
I’ll refrain from posting here anymore, but I’ll keep watching. As I said I think what you’re doing is interesting but I think your attitude toward others here is absolutely horrendous.
