good combination of colors, I like it, great sensitivity
the last two ones are beautiful! the spirit of rokoko transfered into modern times would certainly be interesting to explore more with these meshes that make the basis…
Hi PFC, as always thanks for the visit and your kind words. Glad you are liking this new direction!
Cheers, David
Hi Kokoro, the last one was very simple. I used an insert brush (Baroque) I don’t remember who created it. I then use different strokes and 2.5D to lay down
an overlay of shapes. Most of the time it is just a preview render which I bring into photoshop. I then use Silver Effects Pro to apply an overall antique sepia effect … i use fill and then erase, which lets me selectively bring back color just where I want it.
The others are more complex and I use 3D Fractal elements created in Mandlebulb then exported in a Voxel Stack (it slices the fractal up into a hundred pieces) it is then imported into Fiji and the slices are put back together and exported as an OBJ which is brought into Zbrush and again run through Photoshop and Silver Effects Pro. Hope this helps!
Cheers, David
Another new direction!
I like this new direction cause you have made a proper background for the models and not only a shade
you should explore more this approach
It looks great! There is a relaxation for the eyes and provides time for interpretation!
I want to thank you for the “be more”.
I will leave this forum, because there is little art, but very very mainstream gaming monster whatever. There are only a few dissenter, which attempt to set
new standards, which regulate and break into new horizons. Everything is always perfect, but it will not transfer content. This is skill, but not necessarily art.
People like you, or blueferret or lvxifer or spiritdreamer create new view points and that brings further development. I see millions of models, each nastier the more
intesting. But what happens to it? Nothing. A universe full of models without soul, without destination. This is a playground for the games industry.
To be clear: You may need the basics, control his craft.
But then something must follow. .There are so many monsters and hyperrealistic gaming models.
Please keep up the good and break the rules of the uniformity!
Only it will be remembered.
Let us again be creativ, not only skilfully!
Many thanks for your " Be More"!
Bye!
TM
I second that, this is such a strong piece and although we call it a ‘background’, I think we should think of it more as a totally integrated environment – which is what you have got this time. It really makes the focal point components sing so much more when they ‘live’ in a space.
Thanks for the encouragement I will see where this takes me!
All the best, David
@ TM, thank you so much for your kind words! I wish you would stay around, I used to feel the way you do about being outside the norm … I have come to enjoy the good monsters and mech warriors and photo real portraits and still do my own thing. I guess the closest thing to abstract to make Top Row was the work of Meats Meyer!
At any rate I will I will greatly miss your visits and your amazing concepts and execution!
All the best, David
Thanks so much, I am glad you like the direction I am taking … I will have to see where I go with this!
Cheers, David
