Thanks so much, I appreciate your kind words! All the best, David

Luv these last two posted David…:+1:small_orange_diamond:)

The second one up from the bottom on the previous page in here…That’s exactly the kind of motion and kinetic energy that I want in the boxer skipping rope piece that i’m working on…Thanks for this Inspiration…:D:+1:
The last one posted…The Sling…Great design:+1:…and just great to look at…
Keep on Truckin David :D:+1:
Glenn

Hi Glenn, So glad that you liked these. I did that blur work in photoshop … I know you use painter but there must be something similar the filter in PS was:
Blur/Radial Blur/Zoom at a high setting, it was applied to the whole image and then selectively removed with the History brush … like scraping off a layer of paint.

Cheers, David

number 413 is interesting, and the last one just beautiful. like the clearity of the design

Thank you! … your visits are always welcomed! In just a few days we will have Hair and probably some other surprises, I can’t wait! Cheers, David

yes like the clarity and flow in the last !:+1:

Hi Gary, Thanks man, I appreciate your comments! You got that engine running yet? Cheers, David

One last piece for today … hope you like it! Cheers, David

Another 2.5D exploratory work. Cheers, David

post number 439 is great. to me this is exciting, as in the first second i looked at it, i immediately saw the fragileness inside the metal frames,it looks like petals of a blossom are trying to unfold, the blossom surrounded by a (decorative) cage (like a prison)…the unexpected fragileness touches me, always fun to come back and explore what you all have created.

Thanks so much … I always love your description of my work, much more romantic than I see it … thats a good thing!

I see you are working with Cycles under the guidance of Michalis. It is open source code I believe, where did you download it and is it a standalone render engine?

All the best, David

You have some really cool abstracts going on in this thread chalkman. Love watching your explorations.

Ezra

Hi Ezra, Thanks man! I am thrilled that you are enjoying my work!

I just discovered your awesome Shadowbox tutorials, I love your bikes and your hard edge modeling in general. When i have some time I will be going back to your tutorials!

All the best, David

yes, i learn cycles, and i enjoy it… i dont know if you can download cycles as stand alone renderer, michalis probably knows, i have downloaded the latest blender version, where it is included. , you just need pick “cycles” before you start setting up the scene, as materials for example seem different for blender renderer and cycle renderer. … hehe, romantic, yes that’s me

@kokoro

Thanks for the information, I will look into Blender! All the best, David

Latest blender builds here
Cycles is the new internal blender render engine. Not a stand alone app.
Based on a great nodal UI. Nodes and navigation is the only you have to learn. IMO any other render UI is simply nonsenses.

All these last compositions are very interesting but sometimes they lack of some definitions in certain areas. It’s the 2.5 d, I’m not a friend of it. A 3d composition, exported and rendered on another engine… this will be great.

Hi Michalis, Thanks for the info, I already downloaded and installed Blender. It looks very interesting and has come a long way!

I am familiar with a nodal UI as I have worked with both Nuke and Shake as a compositor!

I believe the lack of definition you mention is intentional. As a rule I add a lot of grain, noise and on occasion motion blur to my images in Photoshop.

I will probably not do more than play a little with Blender for a while as I am busy getting ready for a trip to Africa and of course we should be getting Hair for Zbrush any day now. Cheers, David

Hi David
Bad case of vertigo this morning, and your latest couple of images aren’t helping my condition…LOL…But luv em anyway…:D…Great job David…:+1:
