ZBrushCentral

New website design

Hey there,

First of all the new design looks great. However I miss a very important feature, the thread gallery. I used it a lot, when I was looking for a specific image, or whenever I just wanted to track the images in the lack of time of reading through the posts…

Cheers

Szabolcs

nice redesign, but those white bar after every message… very hard to read threads with a lot of short posts…

From Pixologic:

Q: What happened to the Thread Gallery and User Gallery features?
A: Those will be brought back in the near future.

New zbc style is boring and commercial
Post your pictures having the limitation of 750 px wide. Else you have to click on attachments or scroll.
This last isn’t too bad as many users were posting gigantic renders. But 750 px wide? Make it at 1024 px or 1280.
Economy, I suppose so…

totally agree, it has a to shiny commercial look to it, there is to much gradient for my tast :-U

I just tested the uploader. The same app like in blenderartists.org.
I’m strongly complaining for this:
It discards color profiles!!! I always post sRGB profiles, how should I know what monitor or OS anyone has?
To see the right colors, we have to ask for full view window. Bliah
Please fix this major for an artistic forum bug as soon as possible.

Edit:
I tried to upload a linked picture. Using drop box.
Ok, it works, ZBC still discards color profiles.
Please do your tests, it’s of great importance.

it’s the main reason why i alway use PNG because it use exact color for every system, too bad that old zbrushcentral didn’t use png

I agree that the new forum lost it’s looseness and uploader’s “signature” every post and picture upload looking the same, with the restrictions of images in the posts, but at the same time I feel it’s easier to browse now, so I’m not complaining much at this point anyway, but rather congratulate on the new look and features!

Continuing my complains…
Old uploads kept their profiles. Only the new uploader is problematic.
PNG doesn’t support Color profiles BTW.
Jpg is the best for our needs in ZBC.

Do you guys also having problems with looking at images?
Every image here I would like to look at shows up as “thumbnail”, but when I click that, I don’t get a full res version of the image… it stays thumb size…
Anyone else having this problem?

yes but the difference with PNG file is that it doesn’t need to use color profile because it will preserve the original color you used for it for to know more about it, go there : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portable_Network_Graphics

it’s too tightly! A lot of useless grey color and too small images. Moreover, pictures are cropped on the right!
This new design diverts attention from the works. I loved the old website more…

@allaze-eroler

OK, never mind, we have more serious issues here.
New attached images are resampled, have different colors, contrast and have also an ugly sharpening.
ZBC isn’t a good place to show your work. Not any more.

And this bad tested “ZBrushCentral” logo up left corner… Hey, do it smaller, you gonna kill somebody. Use one orange color, not two. The more yellow one. LOL

I dont know what to make of this upgrade, its looking a bit… I cant use those words… ummmm ok I will just get to the point:

This thread is ruined at the moment:

This one is trashed too:

Links in posts to other posts are broken (they were working the other day):
http://www.zbrushcentral.com/showthread.php?26256-Imported-objects-Procedures

Post history, both general and started by (your (or someone else’s) name here) are now basically gone, as in we no longer can see our post history.

What has happened to all the tutorials that use screen shots I do not even want to think about.

Uploaded images do not seem to appear on the front page any more… unless there is now some sort of delay.

Here is another fun one: I got logged out while typing this, people are going to LOVE that feature…

You cannot delete images from posts, they turn into “thumbnails” with a huge ugly border around them.

I have not encountered that, including when I was testing without being logged into the forum. What browser are you using and which version is it? Have you tried using a different browser to see if the problem persists then?

I also believe that some of the features use javascript, so if your internet security settings are blocking that you will have issues. In that case try adding ZBC to the safe sites list.

I’m seeing that but only SORT OF…
Its hard to explain, images are the wrong size (almost always), images that have been deleted show up as large messed up thumbnails, and a lot of images are showing up as thumbnails but with no bigger version (like Oli4D said) but not all.
I’m in the latest Firefox and dont have any clue where to look for “the safe sites list” in fact other then my Windows firewall I dont know of any such thing and ZBC is not in my firewall list (blocked or otherwise).

—EDIT: The videos on other sites show up, no images however —

Same with this one:
http://www.zbrushcentral.com/showthread.php?136873-Cedric-Seaut-s-Little-Box

This is a tutorial, it happens to be very narrow and that still does not quite save it:
http://www.zbrushcentral.com/showthread.php?111618-Making-of-fur.

By the way, if an image is too large for the page, it will be resized to display within the page. But clicking it will open an overlay that displays the image full-size. Yes, it will seem sharpened or resampled in-line. It will appear perfectly normal when clicked.

If you post an image that you know is going to be resized like this, simply add a comment to “Click image to view full size.”

old site’s design true

Actually that brings up a popup window (popup blockers need to now be turned off) which contains another resized image, clicking in that opens a third window (or tab in my case) that contains the actual image, that one often requires clicking to zoom in on it…
Now after all that you have to close the 2 extra windows and get back to what ever you were doing thus making the simple act of viewing an image a chore especially when looking at large threads.
Do you see what I mean?
I think I got it all…
