New to Zbrush

ZBrush Usage Questions

Hi everyone,
I’m new to ZBrush so go easy on me :slight_smile:

I have some questions about Zbrush.

  1. I’m having trouble with all the terminology, I could really do with some help on all that.
  2. I’m looking to keep things really simple in my creations, nothing to fancy but struggling with a few things. I’m really just looking for ways to spice up my 2d artwork. I’m using ArtRage and Photoshop and some apps on the iPad at the moment, is there anyway to incorporate ZBrush with these other art programmes?
    I’ve been playing about with the 2.5D brushes and the Quick Sketch mode but that’s about it really.
    hope you guys can find the time to help me out.

    P.S. my PC isn’t the greatest machine around and handles ok to a certain point. :slight_smile:

I think one of the first things you should do if you are completely new to ZBrush is go through some of the PDF’s in your ZBrush 4R5/Documentation folder, starting with the ZBrush_Starting_guide.pdf. That one is probably the best place to start. Also, watch lots of video tutorials. There is no shortage of tutorials, but try to watch ones that are made in the version of ZBrush you are using, or the closest to it. In other words, if you are using ZBrush 4R5, stay away from tutorials done in ZBrush 3.0. ZBrush has changed considerably since then.

And yes, the tutorials are very good and worth your time.
