new to zbrush and sculpting

hey guys i am new to zbrush and the sculpting world

i always wanted to sculpt busts and statues of my comic heroes ect but could never get the time or the materials together and someone suggested digital sculpting so i got zbrush about a week ago and have spent my time learning most of the buttons ect its quite a steep learning curve

anyway i wanted to point out a problem and a question i had

the problem is muscles for me i a using zspheres for my armature and muscles (im not very good at them right now) but when i convert they always look lumpy and out of place…whats the best way to practice getting good muscles onto a zsphere armature

and my question is…if i sculpt individual parts lets say…the torso and a head…is there a way for me to bolt these two together?

for practice in poseing and how muscles work in those poses i was looking to make a sculpt with muscles that i could move and define and pose for learning

thanks for any help guys

Hello Rcoonie

you were haveing proplem’s with makeing two parts one part

so here is a tutoreal on that

http://www.pixologic.com/docs/index.php/Tutorial:ZProject_and_SubTools

and a about muscles did you try useing zsketch!

and you can try useing the brush’s called inflate ram and move

and if you have any more things you want to ask PM me

when you convert from zsphere or zsketch you need to go to the adaptive skin pallet, increase resolution, then hit shift A to see what the results will be. keep adding resolution until you have the degree of information you need.
