ZBrushCentral

New to ZBrush and I'm having problems.

Hi guys.

Well I’ve been putting off learning ZBrush for around 4 years now just because of how confusing and daunting I found the UI and controls coming from Maya, but I’ve finally decided to take the plunge.

Seems I’m falling at the first hurdle.

Basically I want to set up 2 image planes, front and side to model a glock 17 using shadow box and the clip tools. The problem I’m having atm is a wierd bug that clips the image plane off as I rotate around it.

Have you guys seen this before?

Im running with a i7, GTX580 with the latest drivers and 12GB ram.

I’d really appreciate some help, so I can get cracking learning this amazing program.

Anything at all guys? Wondering if I’m doing something wrong in ZBrush or its a driver/display issue?

The best method for what you want to do is to use the grid for reference images. See here:

Alternatively, if you are using the Image Plane plugin then make sure your model is in Edit mode before you load an image. The image will then be placed far enough behind the model so that they don’t clip.
