New to all of this

Hi all,

I have just discovered ZBrush for the first time and I am completely amazed  but what you can where digital art is concerned. I do have a few questions :bulb: before I click the “buy” button.

  1. I understand you can’t buy it on disk or so I have been told by a reseller. Which raises the question if I download it from the Pixolopic to the UK. Will it work?

  2. If my computer dies  on me, as it has done before, and ended restoring everything  and in the process lose ZBrush, can I download ZBrush again, or is my money now gone. Could I save it to disc?

  3. What kind of computer would I need for it to work well, and then perhpas look at animation software to go with it.

  4. Is there a date for ZBrush 4?

  5. Can you download Spotlight and Lightbox now?

Thank you all for your responses.

Here are some answers for you:

  1. Disks for 3.5 are not available through resellers yet. They will be available in the near future, though. But there are no issues with downloading ZBrush being in the UK. We go through Cleverbridge, which also has a server center in Germany.
  2. You can save the downloaded file to disk. It’s only 45 MB, so will fit on just about anything. Also, our support team can renew your download link at any time for an additional 14 days. There is no charge to do this, and you’ll always get the most current version when you download, rather than possibly being stuck with a CD that has an out of date version on it.
  3. See the system specs here: http://www.pixologic.com/zbrush/system/
  4. No. The most recently given information was near the end of the year. However, ZBrush 3.5 for Mac is running behind schedule, so it is possible that Z4 will be pushed back to first quarter 2010. (Just a guess on my part. It’s not official.)
  5. No. Spotlight will be part of Z4. The full implementation of LightBox will be as well, although a partial implementation is already included in 3.5.
Hope that helps!

Thanks alot. I defo will be buying this.
