***NEW*** The Organic Buildup Brush

Hey Everyone,

This is a brush that I’ve been fine-tuning for a while now, and I finally think its time to share this with the ZBrushCentral Community!

THE ORGANIC BUILDUP BRUSH

This brush is similar to the Clay Buildup Brush, but is more ideal for organic situations, let me explain:

The Organic Buildup Brush is a softer brush than its cousin, the Clay Buildup Brush.

I love using the Clay Buildup Brush, but found it far to harsh for organic models.
I wanted something that felt organic, and that is exactly what you get with the Organic Buildup Brush.
It allows you to easily buildup and blend an area of your model, without the smoothing/moving/nudging/etc.
You can quickly buildup meaty/fleshy/muscular areas with a single brush.

Explore with Focal Intensities as well as using the brush in a Subtractive manner.

This is in no way meant to be a substitute for the Clay Buildup Brush.
Use both brushes together to get great results.

I recommend using the Clay Buildup Brush for HardSurface/Inorganic Modeling.
Use the Organic Buildup Brush for Organic/Terrain/Textile Modeling

Please leave any questions/comments/tips.

:ex: Please post your photos in this thread, if you download and use the brush :ex:

Looks interesteing. Downloaded it, extracted it to Zstartup/BrushPresets and it didn’t load on startup. I tried to load it manually, and get an error. Am I doing something wrong?

Honestly, it might be me thats doing something wrong when uploading it… This is the first time I’ve uploaded a custom brush

All I did was save the brush as a .ZBP to my desktop, and then I made a .ZIP file out of it, so I can upload it to the site.

For some reason, I wasn’t able to get it to work when saving it in the directory folders of ZBrush. I created a folder on my desktop “CustomBrushes”, to which I have saved all of my custom brushes. Upon needing to use one of the brushes, I simply load them individually through the brushes palette, and that seems to work just fine. I’ve even created a custom menu with just those brushes saved in it, so I don’t have to load the brushes each time I want to use them…

I am using a Mac, I don’t know if that makes a difference, though I can’t imagine why it would…
I am also using the latest version, ZBrush 4R2, so if you are using an older version of ZBrush, I am not sure that this brush will be compatible (I don’t have access to other versions for testing).

I gave it a try, seems pretty cool. Thanks for sharing.

No problem loading this brush (ZBrush 4R2, Windows 7), Thanks coreyschroeder

Halogenic: Thanks for sharing a test sculpt with us. Glad you dig the brush, and I’m excited to see what else you come up with!

Artfan: Thanks for downloading the brush! Check it out, and feel free to share your test sculpts.

Again, if there are any questions you have about the brushes functionality, please feel free to ask.
Any comments or recommendations would be gladly appreciated, as this is my first custom brush.

The good comments have inspired me to share some more of my brushes.
Stay tuned…

Here is a quick sculpt I did this morning.
Some sort of alien creature… I love this brush the more I use it.

Turn Lazy Mouse on, and set your smooth setting between 6 and 10.
Very awesome results!

I’m posting this as the main photo for this thread, I love it so much!

Hey Everyone!

I just posted my newest custom brush!

The Textile Wrinkle Brush - Check it out here.
It was designed to have the ability to produce both short/tight wrinkles, as well as long/flowing wrinkles.
I’ve also heard a few people say they love it for hair.

Check it out, I’d love to see what you guys can make with it!
