Hey all, I’m at something of a loss when it comes to the new layers functions. I’m particularly confused by the “record” function. I find some work will disappear if I click off the REC button and a few other confusing occurrences.
I’ve gleaned a few things off of forum searches but I’d love a comprehensive doc that explains the whole shebang.

This video helped me alot to understand layers. I think the mesh extraction part was a feature in 3.5 and it seems folks are posting that they can no longer access that feature, so don’t get confused by that.
There is a documentation folder in your Zbrush directory that has pdfs showing what’s new in zbrush4 which includes details about the new layer system.
