New from Polypainting Bug ? [Solved]

Hi,

After the cavity map problem, now I’m having the same issue when generating the texture map from “New from polypaint”.
After pressing New from polypaint, zb only shows a tiny square. However, the model already has its own UV map laid out before any work was done.

Does anyone know when Pix will release a bug fix patch? or something alike? It’s pointless to move forward with my work in zbrush if the basic functionality is not working. Cheers.

Your UVs only cover a small part of the texture map, that’s why there’s just a tiny square. That means that there is only a small area to hold the polypaint information. I guess the area is about 500 pixels square. That’s about 260,000 pixels. Each pixel can only store one color so if your model is over 260,000 points you will lose data in your map.

Thank you for your reply. That is very strange, because I initially have all the UV set already as shown in the attached image.
However, after verifying once again, it turned out that my UV were changed to a single square… I don’t know how / where or when that happen…
Also, found out that my model had some tri when there were none initially…
