New from Masking Broken? Help needed [Has workaround]

OK whenever I render out the AO or the Cavity masking and do a new from masking on a mesh that has uvs I get a black texture

well thats unfortunate, I really hope this don’t let this bug go in till the next release.

Yes, I never export a model without those maps, otherwise I can’t texture it properly in a 3D package. They could just silently overwrite the R2 installer with this bug fixed, because I’m afraid we could wait a while for a next release. :wink:

I think we are going to be screwed and have to wait for the next release… They rarely release bug fixes after a release. :frowning:

If you have any polypainting on your model, erase it by filling with white. Then, you could generate the AO/cav mask as usual, invert it, fill the (now masked) object with black color, and just use new from polypainting.

There you have the workaround, hope it gets a real fix…
