New Dinosaurs

First, may I ask You why You still use Zbrush 2.0? You know that You can upgrade for free?

Second, You have to swap your texturemap before exporting. It look wrong then in ZB, but right in other 3D application. Must be swapped the V.

I now managed the texture to appear in zbr 3.5 interface as shown on poser 5 screenshots. But painted in zbr 3.5 texture from polypaint menu, it still remains random in poser 5.

there was no “swap V” menu, so I tried for all options shown in the texture menu.

The morphing is not really proceeding. poser 5 now shows no more gaps instead of spheric morphing but locates bones somewhere in a non-hirarchy from center of bone 1. Looks like terminator 2

Theese are new images based on further critics and anatomical studies of theropod dinosaurs.

First, there is a new Allosaurus fragilis, scaled to full size, showing it´s original lacrimal horn decoration, taken from a not eroded specimen image.

The images now posted are showing all dinosaurs with their palms now facing each other. The feet are a bit too long but I changed it with Cryolophosaurus. The feathers I was suggested to add, I think, aquire further software. I found how to add a beard to a human figure but no feathers. Needs lots of tim eto render. I’m working on it. The skins are low resolution but feature an improved look when compared to last series. This is subjekt to creating them without painting on the model.
There are no herbivore dinosaurs, this time, as I installed zbrush3.5, where I was no longer able to create a texture map, painting in zbrush. It only sometimes works and therefore, I need further instructions on the interface. But the polycount offers a lot more power with the new version of zbrush. Poser5 still breaks structure with autogroup. Does somebody know a software that does not break the structure without programming any detail?

Theese images now lack of contrast on my actual screen. Other settings than the screen I am working on.

Here is a new lacrimal view of Tyrannosaurus, inspired by the AMNH 5027 specimen:

Takes about half an hour to render one of theese images. I now did the necessary changes to it’s feet. They are using a higher resolution.

I took the lacrimal horns of Nanotyrannus l. and transfered them on Tyrannosaurus r. So it can resemble the maybe subadult specimen. Unfortunately, 500 KB is maximum image size for upload. So I had to cut the chart into serveral pieces. There are several new specimens with a lower resolution placed in the image after the computer was no longer able to render them in a higher divided stage. This is sometimes jumping to the main forum’s headline when editing images. Please excuse this.

The alphas will not work on this resolution. Therefore, I need more polygons. But that will not work fluently on my computer. Already starting to stop when rotating a model of this resolution. Sometimes, I have to clean the screen with rotating parts from views sticking to the workspace.

I noticed a lot of people drawing dinosaurs take reference of the Jurassic Park Trex with its extensive eyebrows/horns, whatever. But I did not find any fossil showing theese expansions above the orbital fenestra. Does somebody have further information on this topic? The mentioned feathers in theropod species are suggested to appear only in small species and disappear with increase in body mass.

The images appear clear on a contrast screen and a bit with a lack of contrast on this laptop’s screen and a wacom cintiq. They show too much contrast on an Eizo screen. I don’t know how they will appear on other screens. I now did the detail work manually without dividing resolution.

Here is some problem, I mentioned. I this time started with a zspeheres and zsketch of a protoceratopsid which took quite a time.

I was able to paint a simple texture on the tool in zbr 2 using “draw” and “rgb”. But now with zbr 3.5 and 4, doing the same, there will be no color on my planar map. Spherical, cylindrical and tiles will look different when creating texture map from polypaint but allways appear in random pattern with the texture “on” in the right menu bar.

There is no way to paint on this. Can somebody help me?

Hmm. Not sure. Are those renders in ZBrush or an external App’?

One possibility…ZB 3.4 and 4 use a different method to manage multiple
textures on subtools.

You have to select (or create) the texture you want to paint on in the
“Texture Map” menu. ‘Then’ use Projection Master to paint onto the texture.

When you are done, you have to use the ‘Clone Txtr’ button (same menu)
to clone the texture back to the Texture panel on the left before exporting
or saving it.

Well it looks like you’ve already painted it but your problem is taking the polypaint and turning it into a 2d texture map. You probably just need to UV map the object. Use the UVMaster plug-in for ZBrush on the model and then, after you’ve done that, try creating a texture map the texture from poly paint way.

Here is a Liopleurodon ferox, I did yesterday.

This is a jurassic sea reptile with a skull length of up to 3 meters, which is, as I’ve read, some record holding predator. As I did only have a single skull photography (perspective), the body and Skull may vary from illustration.
