Neutral Matcaps

Greetings,

I’m aiming to build polypainting off of matcaps that have distinct specularity, cavity, noise, etc but most premade matcaps come with color information that alters the pure color of the polypaint. Is there any way to use interesting matcaps but keep the color information neutral, change existing matcaps, or simply use zbrush to fillobject without using color info? Thank-you.

look inside of the material panel when viewing a material and you’ll need to change the image that the matcap is pulling the file from. PS will be your friend here for pulling the color out of the image.
