Hi, I’m working on a character based on Nick Z’s free ZTL Athlete Body (I don’t remember the exact name). I’ve made clothes by creating subtools and now I’m kinda stuck… How can I put texture on these different clothing subtools without having the whole model textured ??? 'Cause everytime I choose a subtool and want to put texture on it or use another material it changes the whole Model instead of just the subtool. Please help me…
You need to disable UV’s (Tool>Texture>Disable Uv) and then use PolyPaint. While UV’s are enabled, any texture that you select is immediately applied to the whole model. With them disabled, textures can be used with the brushes to paint.
If you have pre-made textures that you wish to apply to the model, then it’s a different situation. In that case, you need to leave UV’s enabled, and transfer the texture into PolyPaint. Do this by dividing the SubTool to have as many polygons as the texture has pixels. Then apply the texture (don’t worry that it’ll appear on all other subtools as well). Now press Tool
Texture
Txr>Col to convert the texture into polypaint. Repeat for each remaining texture and subtool.
thanx 4 that, it worx out fantastic !!! hope to post some pix soon …
