need some help (answered)

hi im new to texturing how can i save my texture as a image so i can put the texture on in anothe program and how can you make it so your on a low sub division level on another program but when you render its a high level sub division im working with zbrush 4

Read in the manual about how to use GoZ, if there is support for the application you intend to use it with. Easiest would be using polypaint for the diffuse colors, then at the lowest subdivision level create uvs (uvmaster if you are planning on adding manual painting in other applications, otherwise AUV or GUV-tiles. Then create the displacementmap at the lowest subdivision level, go to the highest subd-level and press texture->new from polypaint. (If you want to you could create a normal map too. Then click ‘GoZ’ to export it.)

hey man i cant use goz beacuse i use blender

You can export a texture map from ZBrush by:

  1. Pressing Tool>Texture Map>Clone Txtr. This puts a copy of the map in the Texture palette.
  2. Pressing Texture>Export and saving the map.

If your render app will only handle a model at low subdivision level you will need to create a displacement map in ZBrush. You would then apply this in your render app so that the high frequency detail will appear in the render.
