Need serious help asap, (simple, but frustrating)

All I’m trying to do is Zsphere edit Topology on a simple 3D Sphere to create a new shape.

Simple right? Well what I actually want is the Skin Thickness to work.

When I set it to -.1 for example, the preview shows two flat surfaces intersecting each other (if I made a triangle shape) and no clean edges or connecting one another.

I’m new to Zbrush and it is extremely frustrating I can’t google “Zbrush Skin Thickness no edges problem” or something like that.

It’s probably and incredibly simple fix but it’s stopped ALL work until I know how to fix it. I don’t want a work around, I see videos of people making topology and setting skin thickness - getting perfect thicknessesseseseses and edges.

Are you saying skin thickness doesn’t work? Pics or it didn’t happen.

Ah ha! I was just an idiot!!! Apparently you need more than like 4-5 vertices to make the skin thickness work. I was trying to thicken a triangle -.-… Oh well, my newer problem is designing armor. Mainly drawing flat surfaces. Like if you use a brush having it not make ridges when you draw. If I can figure that out, I got everything I need. I’ll make a new post. Or something.

You can easily make a triangle starting with a Cylinder3D, draw it out, enter edit mode. Go into the initialize panel and set divisions to 3. Play with parameters til happy then make PolyMesh 3D. Be sure to then select it in the tool panel.
