need help

Hey guys im new to using zbrush and im having this really frustrating problem that i cant solve, please help…

ok so ive imported a mesh made in max into zbrush as .obj
when i draw on the front of my model the back collapses with it. eg. if i draw on the chest, the chest will zad but the back will zsub along with it. this happens with all meshes i import so im assuming im doing something wrong in zbrush not 3ds max.

ive upload a pic of the problem.

thanx in advance ur a LEGEND!!!

i figured that if i hit the “int zbrush” button the problem is solved but i still dont know what causes the problem in the first place. someone please help me out. i dont want to have to keep initializing zbrush every time i open the program.

cheers

I think your brush might be too big.
If the brush sphere is bigger than the object you are working on, it will in effect “go through” your model.

Try going into Brushes/auto masking, and turn on backface masking.

That should fix your problem.
Hope I helped you out

Are you using symmetry? Is it on or off. My two cents…???

I’m not sure if this would matter, but have you checked to see if your normals are flipped?

thanks guys, this is what i made out of it C&C welcome.
