Need help with Zbrush/Maya

Hey,

I just finished my model in Zbrush and I need to bring it into Maya for animation. (still in the learning process of both software by the way)

So my question is, can i just export the zbrush model as one .obj file (with no subtool) and is it even possible to rig that .obj file with a skeleton for animation in Maya?

The only part I can help on is to use the goz plug in located on zbrush’s download page. The plugin will allow you to instantly transfer your model to maya w/o having to export separately.

You can use “decimation master” plugin to lower the resoloution of your model, or you can save out subdivision level 1 (make sure it has enough detail to support your final model, level 2 might be better) as an obj, then save out your fine details as a normal map, that way you can rig/animate easily in maya and render the full quality model with all the details. hope that helps!

alright, thanks for the help guys. I will try them out now
