Need help with Alphas

Hi, I´m fairly new to Zbrush. I notice that when trying to apply an alpha over a mesh, it looks sort of low-res, stepped. Is there a way to reduce/avoid this? I´ll try to attach an image to explain myself better.

This is just a quick example. I was actually trying to build a tire track on sand but then I noticed that it didn´t look good on close ups. I´ve already tried dragging an alpha, using projection master. No matter what, I always got the same results and the mesh is already subdivided 6 times.

Thanks

1)You could apply a slight blur (or more of one) to the alpha in question in Photoshop, or in the Alpha menu. This will soften the transition a bit.

2)You could use HD Geometry.

3)Remeshing that high res mesh and re-projecting the detail will relax polygons and eliminate stretching where its occurring.

4)You could decide it really doesn’t matter that much. You are far more zoomed in than anyone else viewing it is likely to be (zoom in far enough, you can always find flaws), and smoothing shaders in external programs, or “Smooth Normals” in ZB rendering options, and AA will eliminate most rough edges on any surface.

It worked! Thanks so much. You also helped me discover some new tools within Zbrush.
