I am not sure if this is the right forum for this thread but here goes.
I recently started watching a Tutorial video on youtube (zbrush hard surface techniques) and I have a question about zbrush set up. I have tried contacting the author but as of yet have gotten no response. It is a seemingly easy modeling process that I can not figure out since the author did not go into detail on interface setup.
In the video he uses a 3d sphere and then clip curve brush to cut it down into a rectangle. This seems like a straight forward and easy process but I am having trouble with symmetry. When he does it on the video and removes the right side of the sphere he also removes the left side. flips the sphere and removes the two ends. and again flips and removes the top and bottom to end up with a rectangle.
when i load the sphere, turn on zsub, and hit x to activate symmetry, i remove the right side and the top left. I am not getting a “mirrored cut” along the axis. I have tried rearranging the symmetry controls but I cant get the perfect mirrored effect.
any help would be appreciated.
