Hey.
I’m just starting to play around with fiber mesh and I’m using it to make eyebrows for a character. I have managed to do one eyebrow successfully and I have used subtool master to mirror it over to the other side and append it as a new sub tool.
Because the characters head is asymmetrical I need to adjust the position of the mirrored eyebrow but the transpose tools dont work as I would like them to. T he problem is that when I try to move the fibermesh with the move transpose it seems to just stretch it out as if it is masked at the base.
Can anyone shed some light on what is going on?
The base of the fibers is automatically masked so that when you use the groom brushes you can style the fibers without affecting the base - this is why using the Transpose action line stretches the fibers.
There are two ways you can do what you want:
-
Switch on Move mode but instead of using the Transpose action line simply hold Alt and click+drag the fibermesh to reposition.
-
Alternatively, use the Tool>Deformation>Offset slider to reposition the fibermesh exactly where you want.
Thanks man that makes so much sense now. Big help
