@zewy the render was inside zbrush with the bpr. Photoshop fro the composition and the background

very cool work nassosa- like the colours

FOOD thanks for your comment. It means a lot coming from you. If I’ll ever be half as good as you I’ll die… thnx again

Hi this is my first attempt in hard surface, it’s really hard and needs lot’s of time. I Don’t think I’ll continue with this one since the base model is wrong and I cannot proceed. From what I can I understand so far the base model should be pretty good and close to final product. Mine was not so I have to redo everything. Anyway this is mostly for comments. C&C’s please. thanks!

I think it looks nice. Would you have done it faster in some other application? The base model should have distinct forms and sections so that there isn’t much room for guess work when u begin to create a more finished mesh based off the base mesh. r u using the eat 3d hard surface modeling tutorial? A lot of this hard surface work, like the bike tutorial ( pixolator )here at ZBC is about assembling different parts together. Quite different from sculpting an organic mesh.

@moonlitmaverick: thnx for the comments. I was trying to do what I understood was the eat 3d process from the pictures I saw in the thread. Actually I was thinking that if you have a good idea of the character and a good base mesh with extract and clip brushes you should have something good before I saw the tutorial. I should propably buy the eat 3d tutorial since its much more detailed and difficult than mine. I cannot use other packages since I’m new at the 3d and I’m not so good at Maya or max. It seams easier to actually see what you are doing. In these packages you have to wait and be patient, I guess, clicking adding points extruding etc. But with Zbrush it feels as if you are actually touching the sculpt. Anyway that is my point if view. I will try another one but with a better idea of the final mesh. And propably buy the tutorial. Thnx for the comment.

So it’s been a long time since my last post. Can’t really rember when ti was… Anyway here is a character that I did for fun. Hope you like him C&C’s are welcome of course.

Superb character. :+1:

I promise this is the last one from this guy I promise. Anyway the background for this character is that I was asked to do a 3d version of character for a betting site. He is supposed to be a slob guy, an average character to be exact, but he can be a hero when he bets for his favorite team… Hope you like him, I hope it will not take me 4 months to post something new.

Hey nasso.
Nice character. :+1:
You could edit the face a bit, a more animal like. It’s the four finger hands.
Renderer?

Hey Michali, long time no see.
Thnx for the kind comment. The rendrerer is zbrush bpr.

These are Zbrush renders? Nice work man  any chance you can explain your rendering/shading process a bit? Specifically the one where he’s flying with the orange sky background.

Hi Polaroid and thanks for the kind comments. Yes these are zbrush renders. I can’t take the credit for a walk through since I followed others.Read these 2 tutorials thoroughly and you will get the same result. From my experience it’s a lto of trial and error and lots of patience.

As for the clouds it’s basic brushes in Photoshop and a gradient color. If you Google cloud brush Photoshop, I bet you’ll find lot’s of them.
I hope that help. :+1:

and another one. This was taken from a drawing I found somewhere. I have it for some time so I don’t know the artist, but here’s the original as well. I know that there are major differences, but I didn’t want to do the exact copy of the drawing. anyway hope you like it guys.
