Naruto Uzumaki - WIP

Hi.
This is my first in-depth zbrush work in progress, based on the big hit manga/anime by Masashi Kishimoto: Naruto.
I’m still learning alot on using zbrush and hoping to gain more knowledge in this forum

best regards,
don

very cool… I’ve seen a couple other attempts at Naruto before and this is by far the best… and perhaps the best attempt at a 3d Manga style short of Advent Children

Beautiful and perfect job!!

very good

i especially like the texturing on the jacket and pants; which alpha did you use?

Paul

songokoe,

Very professionally done, gotta love anime/manga. Really sweet details on the clothing!! Only thing that could be suggested maybe is that the neck is a tad narrow where it meets the head. I know due to manga style can be exaggerated but with those cloths he would be youth of 12 so the neck might not be so narrow. Can’t wait to see this one textured and what not… possibly a pose and scene. Keep up the great work. This is 5 star quality. :+1: :+1:

Very nice work. I have to agree on the neck comment, it does seem to strained and thin where it connects to the head. Other then that though seems your on the right track.

Have you seen Cedric Seauts work btw? He did most of the major character models for the Naruto 360 game.

Very nice detail work. How do you approach your cloth - maybe you could put together a mini tutorial.

Great work

thanks salmonGod, siulfx986,paul & bierk! i really appreciate it. Hope you’ll like the finished version later on!

about the jacket & pants textures I used the leathery alpha map from Gnomon alpha library with dragRect stroke:)

Thanks for the feedbacks AngelJ, PolyHertz! I haven’t work much on that area yet, thank you

and btw thanks for the info on Cedric Seauts work, PolyHertz. I love his great work on Naruto 360!

Here is my final model, rendered with Guti’s clay material:

Please somebody let me know if I’m posting too much big pics here :frowning:
Looking forward for your comments guys

thx

Songokoe,

Hey nice final images, are you going to do a color version at some time? More images the better I tend to think, though, not sure how the forum prefers to have them posted it as it can cycle the bottom row a lot. I just tend to put as many pics as I want to show in a post and add more pics to my post by editing it if I feel I have a few more I want to add and if its done in narrow time frame. So I don’t hog up the bottom row, attempting to be courteous to others that have posted. Not sure the offical take on it. At any rate very cool images and I enjoy your work, keep em coming!! :+1: :+1:

P.S. Don’t see your images in the bottom row, wonder why.

Hello Don!

Very good!

“Five thumbs up!” Ebert and Roeper

If this is your first attempt to create complex zbrush model, then u are very talented. I like the detail especially on his jacket and his face.:grimacing:

The best are your first post today (the one with Guti material). The material greatly blended with the model, so we can see the very detail of your model. But your final render (the last one), maybe it’s just me, but the picture is too dark so the detail was not seen. So I choose your first post as my favourite.

I think it’s good with the first post if you want to make him statue-like (That’s my fave  ), but i think you should at least, try to texture him, with a little help from the old man and maxman.

Wow this one must be your master piece. your skill growth is amazing:eek:
no comment for the cloth, the detail just too good
but here are some opinion from me:p

This looks fantastic! I really like the hands allot (contrary to some other suggestions made) don’t change them. You have a great style going on here that looks great in 3D. I see allot of people attempting to do an “anime” character in 3D and so rarely does the final product do the original design justice. This however is quite the exception. Excellent work.

I would love to hear more about the process you used!

Thank you AngelJ. I’m now entering the texturing phase. Looking forward for your feedback later on as well. About the image post, I’ve just got PM by Zmoderator on attaching images on our post, rather than having them linked. So that the images will appear and became part of the zbc archieve

Thx bigheadmode! Modeling in zbrush is very exciting. I hope to come up with better lighting as the model is textured later on

Thanks Neophensiline, Dissipation! Even though I mentioned about a final model, high chances there are still some model tweaks everytime I opened zbrush  So thanks for your feedbacks, I’ll definitely put em in my consideration

Here’s my last update before posting texturing wip:
Thanks to Fatmiri’s marble :stuck_out_tongue:

absolutely cracking sculpt so far mate. like the pose. but what im most impressed with is the way you have managed to give his jacket so much weight! leather is a bitch. would love to know what alphas or techniques u used for it. cheers, Henry

Excellent model and some very good details:+1: :+1:
