Hey Alex, finally after four months I delivered it.
Sorry to keep you waiting.
Gabriel, I’ve been hitting you with compliments from all sides of these internets, I know…but this Freddy is so damn good…and creepy!!!
The goofy base is cool, too…Tracy is a great guy and Electric Tiki rocks
HA HA HA, It’s OK Joe, I really appreciate it! :D
Amazing work Gabriel !
Thank you!!:D
I just stumbled into a FB thread from a very respected traditional Sculptor(whose work I admire greatly) The subject was very familiar to me, since I’ve defending this point for many years and wasted so much time trying to open the eyes of people who doesn’t want to see the future and they are afraid to embrace it.
What do you think about this?
Great work Gabriel.
Impressive variety of subject matter.
I must say, as a longtime traditional sculptor, I wish now that I’d started learning this stuff 5 years ago! I used to have a certain little “standoffishness” to the whole digital sculpting thing, but after getting into it and learning more and more, I realize those feelings were much ado about nothing. Anyway, long story short, I’m having great fun learning now (Though it is a little frustrating not knowing how to make some things that I could easily make the old-fashioned way). And you’re right-after one tries it out and realizes that there is, indeed, no “magic button”, it’s definitely it’s own unique brand of sculpting. Just a different and rather fascinating tool. And most importantly, just another means to an end.
Best regards,
Rick Force
I know that feeling, when I started learning Maya, it was so overwhelming to me. You click on one palette and there is a cascade of options for you to choose from! That is why, when I learned about ZBrush trough Scott Spencer(we worked at the GGS) I said “THANK YOU, finally something I could understand and relate to” .
I am glad that you agreed with me and even happier that you are working your way in ZBrush.
Best to you as well.:D
Can’t wait to get my ZBrush 4!:D
I had the opportunity to collaborate with a very good friend of mine Javier Soto. He asked me to model an original character created by him. This model was then blown up full size to be part of a display booth for Daniel Wood Land ( www.danielswoodland.com ) At the IAPPA Attractions Expo 2010 (International Association of Amusement Parks & Attractions)
Javier and his crew did an excellent job bringing this guy to life.
You can see more pictures of this amazing booth on Javier’s facebook photo album, just follow the link:
