I rendered out a turntable of my previous gesture sculpt, thought Id share it!

Hey mdale,
your poses and deformations are nice. Nice turntable vids too.
suggestions…
try to make it look like the model is responding to gravity. This is what the muscles and skeletal structure are designed to work against.
Also, whichever leg is taking the weight that side of the pelvis will usually be rotated up. I am not sure that is the case in your one leg up pose because she is on her tip toe like a ballerina. in this case more of the overall muscle structure should be involved with the pose. I am not sure though, I would have to look at references. also, the foot of the leg that is taking the weight of the person line up under the chin. Try to think about the skeleton first and then “wrap” the muscles around the bones.
Also, the contours of muscle groups on the outside of the body are Higher than the inside of the body. This is especially evident with the calf muscle.
You are on the right track, keep practicing, but make time for some sun.

Another gesture study. I need to work on my arm anatomy quite a bit.

That’s one scary Ghoul you sculpted…

thanks man! that was the goal

Nice concept! The mouth crashing out of the back of the head is a pretty nice twist.
You might want to try adding some green into the poly paint. What about some nice blue veins?

I chose to do “Cosmo Kramer” (Michael Richards) as my celeb. We have a total of 5 hours to manipulate the provided basemesh into a cartoon-like sculpt of the celebrity of our choice. Here is my sculpt, 3.5 hours in.

Hey Matt - Awesome Sculpt! Yeah he’s a character alright -hope your having a great time in LA - When you get back to the East coast let’s meet up for a coffee - you can tell me all the do’s and don’ts about living in LA.

BTW - We just got another 10" of the white stuff, and it was 0 degrees out last night… I’m so sick of wearing layers and layers of damn clothes - it’s so depressing…
Anyway - great sculpt and I’m looking forward to seeing more…

thanks man! we should get together for sure! ill message you at some point when i return.
