My Work Dump!

Elvaron: thanks man your description not only made me laugh, it was spot on, ive tried to do a bit more of that this time round.

Ive gone back to a lower subdive and deleted higher !! punish myself to get it right at a lower subdiv then move on! What do you guys think now ?

Ive also added some eyes in there just to round out the face.

Winston_Setup_4.jpg

I think you’re on the right way, just don’t forget the difference between a pronounced eyebrow and a fractured skull

Nice work, I agree with Elveron about the jaw and the eyebrow, The pronounced Jaw is the main characteristic of Churchills face, once these two features are correct the rest will follow.

Thanks guys for your input, not much time tonight, added a hat!

Changed materials and it really shows alot of problems, posted up this image to hopefully help some others and teach a pretty valuable lesson for me tonight, change materials often when your sculpting!! itll really help show you where your forms are lacking!!!

As you can see, FLAT and lifeless, argh.

Well, if you think you’ve ruined it, you’re pretty much free to play around with it any way you like. You might come up with something that very well has some live in it. Maybe put a half-smoked cuban cigar between his noticeably older getting lips. That might break up the feeling of the head being in an absolute zero state, if that makes sense (just like those vitruvian style shots always seem lifeless, try giving the head a pose).

Also, yes, it is helpful to use different materials to check the feel of the form itself. On the other hand, though, you’re not gonna finish this piece with any material but with the material of your choice, so if theres a combination of materials that gives this piece the right touch, then be happy with the result and you will have gained better knowledge on how to fix mistakes on one end by improving the other end.

You can do it Hazardous, dont give up on it! :+1:

Your sculpt looks really good, excellent topic

It looks to me that are going off of the “painted” reference material more than the photo. That tends to make your sculpt twice removed and less believable.

I would adjust the expression, which currently looks more sad and fearful rather than portray the intensity which is characteristic of Churchill’s more memorable and iconic photos. You can clearly see it in the B&W photo you have.

Cheers,

[A]

Elvaron: thanks man, good advice again, ive revamped the face heres the results.

GiantSun: I wont give up!!

UnitO: I know what you mean, ive tried to push some more intensity into the face this time around.

WANTED: Amaya Borghild ( A-my-a Bor-jill-da )

Agent in the order of the dusk rain, a guild of elite ‘honorable’ assassins. Amaya is 28 years old, 5’10 and 122lb and although only a lowly koyakunin rank within the guild, she is more than a match for dozens of our elite soldiers.

Its rumoured she wields the legendary Star Souba one of the 12 swords of creation. It is said that this blade was first weilded by Lord Ozutsu Borghild during our worlds creation, to slay the sun and bring about the first stary night.

Amaya is deadly calm and deathly cold in emotion, avoid close confrontation at all costs.

  • Reece Dhamser, Commander - Her Majesties Royal Gaurd.

Im calling her done, still some things id like to do, and maybe ill repose her for another shoot at some other stage - id like to explore her guild, maybe make her sensei or a higher ranked swordsman from the order of the Dusk Rain.
