I’m still tweaking the face here and there trying to making it more bubbly or rather I’m trying to make him younger but I fleshed out his clothing some more and made the shoes in maya.
I made some more face adjustments to try and make him younger hopefully it helped.
Finished adding the clothing. moving on to expressions and maybe a pose.

Here is my first pass of expressions on the new base face. There was a lot of expressions to choose from but I am settling on these for now the smile one is the hardest to translate into 3d its fun though. In the animation he says a word with an unsure expression then he adds a forced smile on top of that face as.

Good expression and character design (Hogarth) but I can still see polygons on the ears. I though it will be smooth with your subdivision
As for your Cat Blanchett realistic head I think you didnt use the proper head orientation for the side view. I’m currently doing a ref page for that celebrity. Maybe you could revisit
Hey Scote, thanks for the comments I took some time to re-visit the cate blanchett head and your reference did help. Some of the issues I ran into with the image is that the two images were shot with different a camera lens which can make things look wider or thinner and in the side view she has a smile going on, not that big of an issue but it didn’t make things easy. Lastly the makeup she has in the front view throws me off from time to time what face makeup can do is make thinks pop out more or make things look deeper than the really are. A buddy of mine told me that it helps to find video of the celebs and take a few screen shots when they are turning like the image below. What would help immensely would be 3 images like that but hi-rez, sadly I couldn’t find any. Over all it was a nice revisit and I appreciate the reference. Thanks buddy.
P.S Forgot the eye lashes ahahah.

Usually you could find in revisiting old movies some good references of her. Sometimes it help a lot to review her filmography and to screenshot as many as you can picture from her.
Of course my references has some lens distortion cant help with that and I can realy provide the value, but with time you could guess the values. I just take practice.
I could try to guess for my ref: 35-50mm for the front view (usually portrait lens) and for the side view 120mm (its from a red carpet so the guy was far away, he should have use a longer lens)
Yeah, your reference helped a lot either way, but the model is obviously far from finished still needs a lot of work I think in the future I will come back to it and I will be starting over with a new mesh not work from the mesh you see above.
After I posted the expressions a while back I did a little clean up.
