My vision of the Incredible Hulk!

Hi all! I know there is a lot of Hulk these day but it make a long time I want to do one so now it’s the time because I have some free time.

What I try to do is a believable Hulk, realistic one. I have saw so many versions of the hulk, some where more cool than other but I always found that the proportions wasn’t well balance, so it’s what I try to do, giving him believable proportions so he can be possible but keeping also his surhuman proportions that caracterise the hulk.

So here is the first step on the upper body, I will refine some area, I’m wondering about the head, if it is better to put the skull higher or lower., and if you have any comments or suggestions go ahead!

I think you nailed it. WHat type of material set did you use for the skin?

Looks good man, but make the face more asymmetrical.

Here is an update, I upgrade so many things, neck connection with trapezus, forearms, and many tweak.

The legs will come this weekend.

I love the “realistic” take on hulk. This is a character I never get tired of looking at. As people always see him differently.

The longer part was finding the balance over the body to get great proportion, I did many test with more short legs, more tall, less tall torso and this king of thing, I had to found a lot of ref of hulk, that was the longer part.
For the Z-Brush part, maybe 2 full day on it, the first day I had 75% of the modeling done and another day on the tweaking…and sometimes I go on when I see something to change, I will modify again a little after doing the legs and a test of rigging just to see how he look when the arm are aside his body.

wdcstudios: I used Vray for these rendering test, I blend a sss shader with 2 vraymtl so I can get 2 different specular .

You can see that you have the neck muscles running up to like the top back of his head. They should stop before then because it’s creating an odd look. I am not sure that just making the traps shorter is the way to go though. Play around with it, he needs the back of his skull and maybe some seperation where the base of the skull meets the spine, just to give the back of the head some shape. Looks great everywhere else.

Jettatore: I know what you mean, but the problem here is that he have a really short brute neck and huge trapezius. So to avoid what you say, I should make lower the trap but I will lose some brute effect of his neck. Hulk is more brut than normal human, so with these in considération, I think it’s ok with his proportion, but I will try to slow down a little bit where it connect with the rear head to make in between.

an update with the legs and I put a quick pants on him, just to get the idea, what about de design of the jeans?

I have an issue with the displacement that separate the upper and lower section, I will fix in it phoshop soon. I have modified a little the trapeze too and some other minor tweak.

Here is an update with some hair, first test, if you any comments or suggestions about the hair let me know :) So are scan line render and some other with light. Pants to come soon! Doing jeans or old original purple pants? I hesitate between these 2, for the air I go with old style, so probably the purple one. hi res link here

looks nice big guns the back of the head, occipital region is a bit big in my opinion though, also I hate how zbc compresses images linked offsite, cant they get more hard drive space to show of our high quality sculpts? other than that, its looking great! :+1:

re is an update.

I take some test renders.. and I do some modif on the claves and I made the waist larger in the front view. So I will surly make the shoulder larger(because I make the waist larger) to get correct deformation and proportions when the arm will be sown on his side. I made some test to with the specular on hair, sometimes too much and other not enought.. I will do a second pass of details on the body after doing the pants. Hope you like it! That looks awesome dude! As for the shoulders neither really seem to stand out from the other? I like his face. He looks a bit intelligent. haha.
How are you doing the hair?

Hello, I´m a young freelance sculptor and Art student from Spain. But I do sculpt in diferent means than you do, I use polimer clays and things like that, so I’m not much help for you people. What I do here, sincerely, is asking for your help: I always loved the anatomic design of The Hulk of Ang Lee (2003) but never managed to get graphic material of the non-texturized model.

Here is an update on the proportions, that I hope final, I had thickness to the back and make it larger,more detailed, ticker some area and many little change on the character. I make also the legs tickers,triceps ticker to.
