Hey man, good stuff, I hope you don’t mind if I offer a couple suggestions about the shader. Some of this stuff is personal preference so if I say something you dont like feel free to ignore me.

  • Seems like the spec is tinted blue, which breaks the physical correctness. If you need the blue in the spec its better to use a dome light or area light with an open sky or giving off blue light/spec.

  • Checking the ‘fresnel’ checkbox in the vraymtl shader (for specular) doesn’t create quite accurate fresnel effect when you layer it in the shader. Instead, Keep ‘Fresnel’ unchecked, and use a fresnel node in the blending slot of your VRAYBLENDMTL instead. Here is a small diagram, the fresnel node version create what is supposedly a more accurate effect on the contours.

  • Correct spec requires a lot of contrast in the gloss and the specular, I think you’re missing out on a lot of good reflections (which help sell the skin alot) by using just a gloss parameter of .7 - It looks like you’re trying to correct yourself by using a second specular map for stronger reflection in the middle of the face but it would look better and be more accurate to just use a gloss map with a lot of contrast to keep from trying to have to layer reflections on to fake it.
