i like your fighter’s overall shape a lot, but the way you’ve applied alphas doesn’t make sense. The alpha you’ve chosen implies plates and panels and is very grid-like. This grid ignores the organic shape of your ship. You have panels seams randomly overlapping structural elements like the strong crease down the nose cone. Think about how these panels would be attached to body of the ship. If the ship was build like a 20th century aircraft, the panels would be bent and attached to a rib-like understructure, thus the panel seams would follow the contours of the ship.

btw - when i scrolled up more and saw your earlier passes on the ship - things looked much better. It’s just that last alpha pass that’s bothering me.

couldnt sleep…thinkin too much so i worked on this to pass the time…

The thumb claw of the hind legs is wrongly attached - belongs to the inside.

Look here

The nose does not sit also at the correct place.

tx Hanco- that seemed ta help. made the changes and things seem to look better

tx minister- when ya critique work please be a little more specific in what ya find wrong. not tryin to be mean but your comment was far too vague…

btw tx magbhitu was experimenting with alphas tryin to mix larger lines with smaller detail lines to give the ship a scaled up look. not sure which i like better
so heres the update! so far so good

Hey man, looking good, whats the poly count? i agree that retopo tools in Z4 are a nightmare.

If you use 3ds max tha wrapit tool for retopo is well worth getting, so quick and easy.

Oh aye and i like your elvistein, reminds me a bit of beavis.

tx snakecharmer1985, my face count is 4785 and unfortunately im a maya guy. ive been waiting for them to develop slightly better tool for polys and it isnt happening it seems. but i will say after all the fussing from yesterday with the retopo tool in zb 4 i was glad that pixo let us keep 3.5 live so it made it possible for me to actually finish that mesh because otherwise there was absolutely no way i was getting it done under 4. once i got it into 3.5 i was literally running 4-5 times faster and thats when i finally cooled off and started focusing. funny thing did happen that got me a little torqued for a minute last night tho. i was goin to town on the the leg, makin real good progress and close to the finish line. i accidentally hit the x key and missed half of the leg on the other side. lol i had to export into maya to fix it. and about the elvistein, i love that character and some day im gonna build him a body! lol cheers:D
