My projects

Hello Zbrush artists, I just wanted to share with you some of the projects I’ve made in the past 3 years. I hope you’ll like it.

Mutated Zombie - I’ve been a fan of zombies since I’ve played Resident Evil, so I wanted to make something original but use some ideas from the game. I did some research about doing makeups for zombies as I wanted it to have an idea how I was going to polypaint the character. As I was drawing concepts for this character, I had imagined him as a scientist that became mutated and huge, with one of his arm enlarged and his heart exposed. I’ve decided to cut-off one of his leg, so that he would be using his mutated arm to move around and I thought it would make him look creepier that way. I’ve placed some bite marks all around his body to tell a story that he has been eaten by a horde of zombies before his mutation.

Softwares:
Zbrush - for modeling, texturing using polypaint, hair using fibermesh, and rendering
Photoshop - for compositing rendered images and doing textures

Knight - I wanted to create a unique look for him so I’ve decided to go with a sky blue armor that has a modern design and gave him a modern hairstyle.

Softwares:
Zbrush - for modeling, texturing, hair, and rendering
Maya - for modeling basic shapes of the armor and props
Photoshop - for compositing images and textures

Scifi Soldier - I made this character with Gears of War as inspiration. I wanted to make him look strong, bulky and someone that looks like a warrior. So I’ve added some scars on his face as a way to tell that this guy has been through a lot. I’ve decided to make him a huge weapon which happened to be an electrical gatling gun. I designed everything from scratch using my own concept drawings. I made a gauntlet for his arm as his map or radar equipment and an eye visor as a way for him to communicate with his team. I made the ammo of the gatling gun as batteries which is what is around his belt. I also did a low poly version of the character for games.

Softwares:
Zbrush - for modeling, texture painting, hair with fibermesh, and rendering
Maya - for modeling basic shapes of the armor and gun
Photoshop - for painting hair diffuse with alpha, compositing turnarounds, enhancements, optimizing textures
Topogun - for retopology
xNormal - for texture baking

Hitman - This character was made with the idea of Hitman: Agent 47 as inspiration. I’ve used Danny Trejo’s head as reference as I’ve always thought that he would be a great fit for the role. I’ve made him a Dragunov sniper rifle and made it black to fit his suit and character. I’ve also made a briefcase for him so that he can carry the sniper rifle with him undetected. I wanted his casual under shirt to be red to point out that he is all about blood and killing. I made his hairstyle with a slick back look, similar to his role in the movie, Desperado. Instead of a neck tie, I’ve decided to go with a bow tie so that he can be a little different from the common hitman look.

Zbrush - for modeling, texture painting, hair using fibermesh, posing, rendering
Maya - for modeling basic shapes of gun, briefcase, and creating shoe laces with nurbs curves
Photoshop - for compositing images and doing textures

Madeleine - I had made several concepts for her constume and the client decided to go with this one. I made her hair purple as I wanted her to have that Hit-Girl look like the movie, Kick-Ass. So she’s pretty much a hybrid of Hit-Girl and Selene into one. I’ve used my friend’s face as reference and she’s of a malaysian descent. I’ve chosen to give her a Desert Eagle as her weapon, because its elegant, yet powerful which I think suits her character.
