My machine cant handle 8gb of ram

Hi ,
My machine always restart itself when the startup reach the ’ welcome’ screen) .

Welcome —> bluescreen (appear 0.8 - 1 sec) —>restart

But after trying to fix it myself.
Reducing my Ram down to 6GB Can solve it.
My xp work fine. And show the message Error

But i need to MAX my Ram as much as possible. i really need 8gb ram .

- Q9550
-Seasonic 500w 80plus bronze
-Geil 2gb x4
- ASUS P5Q
- Gigabyte 9500GT (HDMI connect with my LCD)
- Seagate 500gb 7200p 16mb
- LITE-ON dvd

OS - XP professional 64bit SP2

First, check to make sure that the motherboard supports more than 6 GB of RAM. Also make sure that the RAM you’re using is approved by Asus for that board, that all sticks are the same brand and model, AND make sure that you’re putting the sticks in the approved You may also need to adjust the timing in the BIOS to match the RAM. Not all motherboards make that setting automatically.

Second, make sure that the RAM is good. An easy test is to swap out sticks. The problem may not be with the fact that you’re putting in 8 GB, but rather with one of the sticks that you’re leaving out when you drop down to 6 GB.

Third, if you still have trouble, contact Asus support. This forum is for ZBrush support. We really can’t help much with hardware issues. :slight_smile:
