My Journey to become Character Artist

Hey Guys! Thank you for stopping by
I am Márton Károly Tóth from Hungary, doing everything to eventually become a Character Artist someday. I have been learning Zbrush for 1 month, so far made some progress. I’m looking forward to your critiques and advices.

So far I’ve been studying human anatomy. I’ve done male and female torsos, arms and legs, skull and a face.

Then I went on to doing a complete female character.

I made two videos about the process (timelapse):

Character : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-IA4nGua3C8

So what critiques and advices do You have?

Martin

Hi.

Your doing very well, and glad you decided to start on anatomy, many don’t start that way and end up going back anyway.

At the moment your looking at Origin and Insertions, and naturally over time your start to get the forms better. To help you get there a bit faster try to do some very low poly sculpts, and look at the silhouettes. Because your trying to do the whole body it can be a challenge to give the right attention to each part which is why its better to look at one part at a time. Work closer on the skeletal system first, then proportions.

Here is a link to a learning session on Anatomy iv been putting together the past few months, its over at C4D Café, http://www.c4dcafe.com/ipb/forums/topic/94001-anatomy-for-artist-a-introduction-to-the-core-basics-nudity/

All the best, Dan
