My Experiments

I think moochie has got it right. too much variance in the age of the face.

I think you may have fallen into the trap of over sculpting, too many wrinkles. Just because Zbrush can do it, doesn’t mean you have to.

I’d smooth out the top half of the face , remove some of the wrinklesa round the eyes and to the side of the eyes. I think that will finish the model nicely.

Keep it up…just wish I had the time to make as many edits as you do.

El-d

el-d, maybe you’re right… a problem when you don’t have reference or sketch…thank you, I’ll work that way too, but now that’s what I’ve done - I made a photo of me (unshaved  ) And tried to make an alpha map that repeat hairs flow…and then I imported it in ZB and tune radial falloff a bit and then started to paint it over with simple brush and default stroke…and flip an alpha sometimes…
This is just a start, I need to refine it. And create a similiar bump-map.

Wow. Amazing how lifelike your image is already. I swear the last model with the eyeballs blinked at me when I was not looking straight at it ;).

Excelente progreso…!!! :+1: :+1:

Thanks dear Drug Strannik.
You have achieved it all right. The result is evident.
Congratulations from another Drug.

Anatom.

but I’m not sure if he’s looking better now…I mean “unshaved”…maybe I should leave it only at mouth area?

Looks fine to me! Only two comments if you allow. The upper lip beard should go up to the bottom of the nose. I look like that today I and I felt it 8-).
The other comment is regarding the eyes. They are not in the right position but I think you are still playing with those. Imho they are to narrow. He looks faintly cross eyed. Only a tick. He looks so life like that features are really coming alive. A fantastic model.

Cheers

PS:He looks peaceful, not so ‘evil’ as in the previous pictures. I think it’s a perfect neutral pose for any other expression if you would decide to animate the head at one stage.

Not only allow - I ask you for them  Yes, I know about beard and I swear I painted there! But not enough… And yes, you’re right about the eyes - they are just for the test now

Thank you for so nice comments and advices! I’m working more on textures and bump maps now…

I love the material and coloring of the face so far!!

I sort of like the beard. I think it’s a good idea because it does make it easier to marry the older eyes to the younger rest of face, but if you go there…more care…take your time, a tad more volume, and throw in some varying color…a touch of greys here and there would really tie it in well.

For the eyes…love the color…for his face I would like to see the colored part a tad smaller…the uvea I think its called…I forget now…and the black outer ring I would like to see blended into the blue and not so dark…right now it seems to be an add-on rather than a part of the eye…also some blood vessels in the whites…maybe even a hint of yellowing to add to older but not aged look.

oh yeah…some detail to upper lip is needed…as well as a tad…just a tad of color to both lips so not so uniform. I assume you will be dealing with specular highlights etc later so all is good there while nailing down coloring!!

You are really doing an excellent job of bringing this guy to life!!! Keep at it!! I am thoroughly enjoying watching your progress and it keeps getting better an better!!! Soon top shelf!!!

aminuts, thank you for that kind words  I really appriciate all your support, my friends

Was playing with some great Zbrush functions and did this…I want to develop it futher later…what do you think?

face-new.jpg

Nice material, but i don´t like for your human character.

Great job are you doing

ilusiondigital, excuse me, I’m not sure I got you right…you don’t like the head? Or you mean that material is bad for the head and it was better with old realistic-like?

No my friend, i think the head is very good but the ultime imge (with the metal material) is not good for your model. But I think is a good material (for example your column).

It´s only my personal opinion Strannik.

Best regards

ilusiondigital - I appriciate your comments very much, believe me! I’ll show somth more mayby you’ll change your opinion  Or maybe I will

I have to agree with Illusion. I love the head and all the work you have done with it tll this last image. Takes away from your gorgeous work. Leave that material for something else. With all the little tweaks here and there, before the last image, I am in love with the work. :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1:
