Good start! My suggestion would be to do some research on canine anatomy. This little guy looks rather bovine to me
What did you start out with? Z-Spheres, or a 3D shape?
The first one is the most fun. Keep going and don’t look back!
I think its butt is a little too big, might want to tone it down a bit.

There is a comic drawing book Loomis did a while back, I suggest reading it, search cgtalk, and you can fidn the download link, as they are out of print.
