Not quite here is an exmaple :

What value is there in seeing wireframes when we are critiquing form?
With purpose I’m implying two things, what is the style your aiming for? - characiture, realism, toon etc.
Second, what is this thing? - man, monster, vampire, orc, happy, angry etc. And if its something really abstract or unusual you might want to even include a short description about it.
I derive these critera from the fact that form follows function - I critique my own work by saying first, does the bone structure, muscle placement make sence based on the ‘purpose’ of the character, and then I check to see how well I’ve executed the various elements of the model.
If you don’t have a purpose in a creation, a goal, most often then not during the generative process you become dissorientated as to the anatomical structure, features and all the other elements that go into making an exellent model - plus its really satisfying if you have set your self a character project and in the end achieve it
I should say that its not nessesary to have the goal at the beginning, although I think its better, just that somewhere through the modelling process its important to define a goal to bring harmony between form and function. If you observe my Conehead zscript thats exactly what happened about half way through.
MHS72 I’m sorry if I’m repeating things you already know, if not, I hope you will find it usefull. As a disclaimer to its validity, as a beginner looking for answers, I caution you to consider that I do not work in the industry and that I have no prior visual arts education. That means that the perspective and experience from which I draw these principles is limited.
