My busted mesh.

So I’m really trying to get the hang of this stuff. I basically have no idea what I’m doing. I started this with zspheres sculpted for a while and then started using transpose to move him around. Obviously my mesh is rotten now. Is the mesh too far gone now? (this pic is at the lowest division) If it can be saved what’s the best way to fix this? re-topology I assume? Is there a tutorial for doing it in 3.5r3? I don’t have Maya. Any help would be awesome. I’m 4 years behind everyone!:o
