Multiple UV's

Sorry if this is a straight forward question…

but im usually modelling or texturing faces, with a single UV map, now doing a high res full body character with multiple UV maps from maya, is this possible to import into ZB and generate displacements onto these maps? or would i have to go with a single UV layout?

thanks for any help.

yes. its possible by using ZB’s multi displacement tools.

however, it will not work for anything but displacements,
painting colour maps on a multi-UV is a NO NO.

u can search the forums if you still have more Qs.

good luck.

you can create multiple uv maps in maya, apply it to the model and then import the model in zbrush.

That will do

so if i use MD2 my displacement issue is solved? how do i convert the .tif files at 32 bits to a .map file on a mac? is this possible? different question i know…

also… if i wanted to paint the colour… do i have to bring the model in one at a time with the different maps applied to the OBJ file… or am i just plain out of luck for wanting to do colour in ZB?

thanks!

check out this threadfor most of your answers there is also a zb to maya thread somewhere that should cover what’s left.

Check out this to the zpipeline guide on the wiki. The whole guide deals with ways to render displacement maps in Maya.
