Multiple Subtools, One Texture Map? (solved)

I am trying to texture a model in ZBrush that I made UVs for in Max. When I brought the model into Zbrush I split the different pieces into subtools for the sake of simplicity. I used polypaint to make the texture for the main body and it looks great. What I need now is a way to switch to a different subtool and use polypaint to add to the texture from the main body.

Here’s that’s happening:

  1. I apply the texture lifted from the polypain on the body onto the eyes. It goes black because there’s nothing on that section of the texture.
  2. I use “Polypaint from Texture” and then texture the eye.
  3. I use “Texture from Polypaint”, but rather than getting the texture for both the body and the eyes, it’s just the eyes floating in a void.

Is there any way to do this, or do I have to collapse the model and work with polygroups?

Use the Multi Map Exporter plugin, available from the Download Center. You can set that up to run through all the subtools creating a texture map for each one from the polypaint. With the Merge Maps option on it will then merge all the maps into a single map.
