Multiple subtools/Multiple Textures

Hopefully this is a simple one. I’ve got a ZBrush tool with multiple subtools. When I have a texture ‘active’ for…let’s say the head, the body (a separate subtool) also carries that texture…as do all the other subtools.

Obviously…this looks a bit off.

Simple question is how do I have a different texture applied to each subtool and still have them look ‘right’?

Thanks,
Todd

take each subtool, apply the texture, then

tool>texture>“txr>col”

To do this you need to have a highpoly count on each subtool. What you’re going to do is transfer the texture, to polypaint (or vertex colors)

It should be noted that in 3.12 for the Mac you can apply a texture to each SubTool. This is done through the texture selection thumbnail in the Tool>Texture Map menu.

This feature is coming for PC users with ZBrush 4.

Thanks again goast, you cleared up my last trouble quickly, but I’m actually taking it from polypaint to the texture…pretty much done painting. I’ve converted my polypaint to textures and exported them out…I just thought there was an easy way to keep the textures attached and still have everything look correctly but I guess not yet…as I’m on a PC.

I guess I could leave it on polypaint and leave the textures off.

Thanks,
Todd
