Multi-displacement 3 error

hi im a newbie with zbrush please help!!! my problem is every time i create a multi-displacement3 i get this “error encountered while attempting to create a multi-displacement map. exporting aborted” my model was created on maya exported as obj what would be the problem???..

many thanks

First thing to check is the UV’s. Are any of them touching the edges of the UV space? There should be a bit of padding around the edges.

how can i do that in maya thanks

That’s where you would read Maya’s documentation. I can’t help with other apps.

I’m also encountering this error.

I have sufficient boarders within 3ds Max…

What is causing this?

I found that before displacement painting the Uv check is good…

After painting there is a small area that has an overlap

How can this be?

Hmmm, No one knows?

I’ve done loads of stuff to try to get it to work but no go.

This object is a cave so the normals are facing inwards but I think I’ve seen others do caves with zBrush so it shouldn’t be an issue.

This is really bogus as I got a deadline.

heya, did you gys bring your model down to the lowest subdivision level and before generating the multi displacement map?

That was it :o

Thanks

heya, glad it worked out.

btw, if you’ve stored a morph target on the original obj you brought into zbrush you should go to tool>morph target>switch to change the base level mesh to the original shape you brought into zbrush.

this is because, your lowest subD level mesh changes as your sculpt.
