Ms. Clause wishes you a very merry Xmas! A quick weekend job for an advertisement slot in a 3D magazine. A combination of techniques, 3D Scans to using Hair-Farm for the hair. All bodypainting and sculpting details done in ZBrush 3.5 R2. ZBrush 3.5 is so powerful, it really is essential for sculpting and handling large amounts of polygons. This power enabled me to create this character in a very short amount of time. I hope ths post was interesting  Thanks for looking!

oh god not those silly lips.

nice model.

I realize that real people are asymmetric, but I think in this case the model has probably moved a little during the scanning or something like that. Her head is far, far too skewed… and even if it’s really like that in real life, one should in this case take some artistic license and modify the model to get a more pleasing look. Right now she looks a bit scary.

Thanks for the tips LY. You do realize the model was moved to match the leaning pose? The actual scan isnt skewed at all. I will take note of your observations. What’s up with the linked site in your profile? Do you own Digic? If so cool

If you mean the Digic site, it is coming soon. Really

the camera angle for the render isn’t very flattering, I’d bring the camera up. The lighting on her face could probably be more flattering as well.

wow, I like it very much, all your girls are perfect.

Thanks for the constructive crit guys. I was actualy just going for a gritty as as I could type of girl and shot, nothing to glamorous or fancy. Hence the harsh angle and lighting.

cyril_but: Thanks kindly

Well it is a nice render, the textures are really good. The only thing that stands out to me is the knees could use a little polish.

Lee this is outstanding work as always my friend. I’m really jealous of your toys.

If I may. It looks like the clothing and hair aren’t casting shadows on her chest and arms area. For the amount of days work though. This is really incredible. If thats Mrs Clause. Send me to the north pole

nero5150: Thanks, i will look into that.

brettSinclair: Cheers Brett, I know what you mean. However she is lit from the top and down. You can see what’s going on more clearly in the break down shot. There are shadows in the composite.

Ah I see the shadows in the pic with no hair. But with the hair its missing. if its there. Maybe a bit of creative licence is in order. Maybe Its an occlusion thing.

Hope you don’t mind me nit picking. :o

btw. I love the knees. No idea why. haha.

Wow that’s all polypainting?

Hey Lee, awesome work! Especially in such a short space of time. Did you sleep?!

brettSinclair: Well sadly I didnt have time to be fussy, it might go back to it later on. Yeah I like the knees! Sadly the hair and face needed more work I think. Have you tried R3 yet!?

KillahPriest: Some poly painting some PS

Captain Sensible: Hey thanks! not much sleep, it was such a rush job but I got roughly what I wanted done in time!

Looks very nice!
Marry xmas to you to

Yup. Really impressed with R3. All the plugins are there.
