Wicked cool! :+1: :+1: :+1:

love your fish head. great pic.

Oh! its really great . I love it :))

absolutely beautiful work madmac! Care to share your process?
Where did you render it?

Madmac… very good Monster!!!
An Awsome Lovecraft-ian Creature :+1:

Firerbert- Thanks!

Seavannah- Thank you!

pollolomo- Thanks!

Ariel- Thanks… my process is pretty simple on this guy. I just started with a sphere in zbrush and pushed and pulled it till I found something I liked. I enjoy concepting in zbrush… to me it’s just like sketching in photoshop. Is this what you meant by my process?

The render isn’t really rendered… just a screen capture in zbrush (though I did click the “Antialiased Half Size” first.

piz- Thanks! I love H.P. Lovecraft… Now that I think about it this guy could totally be one of the creatures described in “Dagon”

I always love a good fishman. :+1:

I guess what I mean is that it looks like most of your linear details are created in a single stroke, rather than building up details incrementaly (which can sometimes make the model look lumpy). Are those made using masks, lazymouse, etc or just standard push/pull/pinch with the default brushes (I’m coming from mudbox, can you tell I’m a zb noob  )?

Again, nice taste and execution on your design!

skullbeast-thanks man

Ariel- ah… ok sorry. Yes prior to Z3 you would really have to work at getting subtle details like that but it is possible just with pushing and pulling… if you’ve ever seen my old “fish” thread you would see. But now I do use the “lazy mouse” all the time. Anytime I make a long brush stroke I turn it on… in fact I’m usually resting my finger on the “L” key I use it so often. Usually have to go over it once or twice, but not always. If the model ever does get lumpy I always drop down a sub-division level once or twice before I try to smooth it out. Makes it much easier for me.
Hope this helps

The L key is a shortcut for lazy mouse!?! Yay! That should speed things up!

Nice strong beginning of the fishman head.

Man thats cool. One day when I’m better…one day. haha.

Really great concept design. Would love to see other angles of this piece.

Clean is good. You have nice form and your work is obviously top notch, keep it coming.

Sorry, I haven’t responded sooner, I had to take a business trip to Califorina and couldn’t respond while I was in transit.
